Terminal 2 At Kenneth Kaunda International Airport Now Operational

The newly constructed state-of-the-art new passenger terminal (Terminal 2) at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN) in Lusaka is now operational, according to Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL), the state-owned company responsible for the development, maintenance, and management of Zambia’s four international airports.

Domestic passengers will be handled till further notice at the current terminal, popularly known as Terminal 1.

The new Terminal 2 is being built as part of a larger airport development project that began in June 2015. The new passenger terminal, a hotel, a rescue and fire station, air traffic control, presidential pavilion, freight terminal, shopping mall, and office complex are all part of the project. The construction works at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN) in Lusaka will be completed this quarter, according to ZACL Managing Director Fumu Mondoloka (3Q2021). The existing airport capacity of 2 million people per year is expected to expand to almost 6 million passengers per year once the project is completed, according to ZACL.
