Qatar Airways, Qatar’s state-owned flag carrier, is scheduled to establish a new service to Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Lusaka and Harare will be the airline’s fifth and sixth additional destinations in Africa. On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays beginning August 6, 2021, Qatar Airways will begin a three-weekly service between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and RG Mubabe International Airport (HRE) in Harare via Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN) in Lusaka.
A Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be used to operate the new service. Passengers from Zambia and Zimbabwe would be able to connect to Qatar Airways’ worldwide network of more than 140 destinations. With the addition of these two new routes, the carrier will now fly to 27 African destinations on a weekly basis.
